*COMPETITION CLOSED*

The 2041 ClimateForce Expedition

November 2021

In November 2021, led by Robert Swan OBE, the first person in history to walk to both the North and South Pole, the 2041 ClimateForce team will journey to Antarctica. GlobalChoices will be sending 2 young people to join them and is holding a competition for 1 of the covetable places. We are welcoming applications from young people around the world with adventurous spirits who want to become part of a global force of change and advocate for the Polar ice.

As the winner, you will be an ambassador for the Global Choices Arctic Angel Action Network and join the expedition ship in Ushuaia, Argentina on the 3rd of November to travel to Earth’s Last Great Wilderness.

In the awe-inspiring landscape of Antarctica, you will be in the company of scientists, educators, business leaders and young activists from around the world. Together, you will experience first hand the realities of the melting Polar ice and share in a unique blend of leadership development and climate change education. Highlights include hiking up the 7th continents magnificent icy landscape alongside curious resident penguins, travelling through Neptune’s Bellows and stepping into the deep-rooted whaling history of the famed Deception Island, and leaping into the sub-freezing waters during the world famous Polar Plunge (if you want to!). See the full itinerary here.

Our ambition is to connect to world leaders gathered at the international climate conference COP26 from the ship, so that you can share your experience and call to action from the Ice Crisis frontlines.

Who should apply?

Young people who are passionate about protecting our planet, committed to taking sustained action for it and understand the value of the Polar ice.

Age limit?

Yes. Young people who apply must be over 18 by November 2021 and although we know so many of you are forever young, in this instance you must also be under 35.

When?

3rd - 14th of November

Why?

The Polar ice is on the edge of extinction and its loss will impact us all. Now more than ever, it is critical that this Global Common is not forgotten.

You will return home from Antarctica a champion for the Polar ice able to highlight the Ice Crisis through experiential knowledge.

Sustainability

The expedition is offset by the organisers. We ask that as an ambassador for Global Choices you offset your travel to and from the ship.
